Show 649: A Town Called Nowhere – 24th October matinee, Apollo Theatre, London

The end of the rainbow

As the rainbow travels across the sky, its end moves to many different places. Today it lands at the gates of a town called Nowhere. Two rainbow travelers alight – they are Phyllis and Marjorie Guacamole, world-renowned travel writers and collectors of guacamole recipes.

The town of Nowhere is a happy town – home to the Workshop of the Makers, where Frankie oversees the manufacture of dreams and the answering of wishes. Then there is the mayor and his wife Bluebell and the lovely but lonely Chrysanthemum.

On the outside all is well, but when Phyllis falls in love with Frankie, Chrysanthemum takes it badly; then Bluebell confesses to Marjorie that she finds the town unbearable; the mayor realises that he never does anything out of the ordinary and everything starts to fall apart until we finally learn the dark secret at the heart of Nowhere.

Featuring unicorns and mutant wishing-well-dwelling leprechauns
