The DVD

Two complete shows filmed in front of a live audience at the Edinburgh Festival.

Tent! Setting: Camping, the Highlands.
A modern-day Greek myth featuring romance, adventure and surprisngly located elephants. Featuring music in the styles of Sondheim, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Jesus Christ Superstar and In the Heights.

Starving! Setting: A fashion show, darling.
Enter ‘Milan Week of Fashion’ and meet beautiful ingenue Marie and dirty rat photographer Lawrence Fordham. And also a host of rather vicious pigeons. And a troupe of opera singers paid to highlight emotional moments. Featuring songs inspired by West Side Story, Sondheim, Legally Blonde and Hamilton.

The CD

13 studio recordings of our very favourite songs from the Showstopper! archive.

How do you produce a cast album for an improvised show? We asked the cast to select their favourite numbers from our entire history – and then we voted on the ones we liked the best, aiming for a wide array of different styles and situations.

Luckily we record most of our performances (so we can analyse and improve what we do) so we had accurate records of those songs. We then transcribed and re-recorded them, without altering any of the lyrics or melodies.
