Show 991 – Friends with Benefits – 26th November – The Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London

Social worker office
North Balham social services department is government funded and without even the basic office equipment – laminator, coffee machine, sushi bar. It may not have much – but it’s where Anne feels she is doing some good. South Balham social services department is privately funded, has everything and yet the people working there, including the boss Gerald, don’t seem to care for the people who come to them for help.

So when the the two departments are merged, Anne is faced with an incredibly seductive life of privilege – and a life with the incredibly seductive Gerald. But he makes it clear that to have that, she has to leave everything behind – her friends, her values, even her dear old mother. Which will she choose?
