Show 770: Liz on the Lash – 28th August, Edinburgh Festival Fringe

The days leading up to Queen Elizabeth II’s marriage

This bittersweet tale follows the young Elizabeth, who has last minute doubts about her arranged marriage to Philip. She goes out on the lash with some of her subjects and falls for a young working class man called Martin and ends up leaving Philip standing alone at the altar. However, Philip’s response to the humiliation is to open up – he shows that he has genuine feelings for her. Elizabeth has to make a choice – follow her duty with a good man whom she might learn to love, or leave abandon her duty and become plain old Liz.
