Worthing Pier, modern day.

Michael runs a great Fish and Chip shop on Worthing Pier. Everyone loves Michael and his food – and he’s a reason why the pier attracts so many people. When the prestigious Findus Fish Judges come to town to rate all the fish and chip shops, things don’t quite as planned…

Other characters include Michael’s girlfriend Michaela, who runs the coin fountains, fortune teller Madame Pilchard, who by the end of the musical surprises herself with her powers; and Michael’s long-term chum Frank, who runs the deck chair concession and harbours darkly jealous thoughts about his old friend.
