Ancient Rome under Julius Caesar

Julius Caesar does his best to rule Rome but he is wracked by self-doubt – why is he not the perfect emperor. His old adviser Felix, frustrated by Caesar’s weakness, contacts Caesar’s younger brother Pomello and persuades him to become co-emperor. But when Vesuvius erupts and fails to act decisively, Pomello takes over, leaving Julius in the dust.

Then, one day, when Julius visits his brother at the Colloseum, Pomello eats a poisoned grape and Julius is framed for the murder and there follows betrayal and revolution…
