An Anglo Saxon village under threat from Dragons

Grendl, the artisan and poet, has never fitted in with the traditional values of the village of Wattle on the Wold. Every since his mother was taken away by the dreaded dragons 20 years ago, he has always been mocked as lacking the martial virtues. Yet he is in love with Beatrix, the most powerful warrior in the village. So when the dragons return, will he join Beatrix and fight? Will he try to make his way to the dragons den to see if his mother still lives? And will he discover what truly makes a man?
