Inside PJ’s mother’s head

Audience member PJ’s rather unusual suggestion of making the musical about what was happening inside his mother’s head (she’s called Jose) led to a beautiful, sad and funny story about an elderly lady who is seriously ill in hospital. One of her symptoms is that she is losing her memory and she asks her nurse to write down her memoirs. We then follow her life story her upbringing, her one great love affair, her deep sadness at having given up her daughter for adoption (she kept her son PJ). As the doctors become increasingly frustrated in their efforts to help her, it becomes clear that Jose has not chosen this hospital at random – or indeed the nurse who looks after her…
