Queen Elizabeth the second is lonely. She is estranged from her jealous sister Margaret and only has lackeys around her who do everything she says. So when George, who runs Buckingham Palace tours, suggests she go to the gift shop and meet with the two sisters who work there. Maureen and Tracy Pennant are honest, hard-working women, with one remarkable feature: Maureen looks exactly like Margeret and Tracy looks like the queen.

Everything comes to a head when scheming Margaret leaks a secret about her and Elizabeth’s parentage to the press – it launches her into being the most popular of the two. Will Liz abdicate to make way for her sister? And will she manage to keep hold of her new-found family?
