Show 814: Arthur Sixpence – 22nd April – Nottingham Theatre Royal

England, the time of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table

Frederick Petition, an ambitious and talented boy, deeply unhappy at living in poverty with his mother in the slums around Camelot, fearlessly puts himself up for joining the knightly order. The other knights laugh at this unfortunate until he shows he is their equal, besting the giants of the Western Front and the Untouchable Woman.

Eventually, he becomes powerful enough to challenge King Arthur for the very crown of England. But will this end in bloodshed and disaster or a new reckoning as to what it is that makes a good king?
