Show 739: Tocahontas – 15th July – Mac Birmingham Outdoor Arena

Ancient Greece

When Captain Xikanthos returns from war with his brother-in-arms Lectos, he is persuaded to live in peace and love. But he discovers his wife Thermos has been been having an affair with Lectos and kills him in rage. This shocking act leads not only his wife to flee to the nearby city of Eden, but also turns his own people against him.
He visits the Oracle at Delphi who reveals the truth to him. He descends to the underworld and offers to swap his life for Lectos’s. Will he find redemption or damnation?

Note: One of the villages Xikanthos raids and pillages is The Night Garden – and in fact the boat they use to cross the river Styx is Iggle Piggle’s.

Also note: the audience member actually suggested the name ‘Togahontas’ which makes more punning sense of the setting. However, Dylan, who was in the chair, misheard, hence the bizarre name of the show.
