A beauty pageant in Alabama

Maisy Clarkson was Miss Alabama 1959 – she thought she was on top of the world until her sister Cassandra stole her husband and since then their rivalry has been endless. Maisy’s daughter Mopsy and Cassandra’s daughter Ruby – who are best of friends – have always been pushed to compete against each on in the Alabama Beauty Pageant.

But this year, 1983, their rivalry will finally come to a head and while their daughters show off their skills of singing, belly dancing and contortion for the judges to consider, they will have to face what happened so many years ago.
