Lucy Trodd is a writer-performer and founder member of Showstopper! She was in the BBC R4 series and regularly appears on tour and in London’s West End. She co-produced the Showstopper! CD and co-teaches the musical improv courses.
Lucy writes in partnership with fellow Showstopper! Susan Harrison. Their ‘One Size Fits All’ sketches feature on their YouTube channel. Winners of the British Comedy Guide Sitcom Competition and Finalists in the Funny Women Awards. Hopping, their historical comedy aired on BBC R4 and Pretending launches soon. She co-wrote and performed (with Ruth Bratt) two sketch comedy series (“Well Done You!” for NBC/BBC Radio 4) and were finalists in the BBC Audio Awards. Recent theatre roles include: Lady Bracknell in The Importance of being… Earnest? (UK Tour), Diana in Absent Friends (Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne) and Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of The Baskervilles (Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury).
She played IMPRO Amsterdam Festival 2024 (as the UK member of the ensemble cast) and went on to perform at Momenta Impro Festival, Leipzig where she made her improv directing debut with REUNITED: The Band. She returned and set up Folkestone Improv Theatre, where she teaches improv and hosts Jam nights. She co-directed Dancing For Your Life which premiered at Welcome Festival, Rome. She is looking forward to more festivals including Improfestival Karlsruhe.
