Pete Furniss began playing the clarinet aged 7 and has been making it up as he goes along ever since as a performer, improviser, community musician and educator. He’s performed with orchestras and ensembles across the UK and as a soloist for over 25 years and has recently focused on developing an augmented practice of the clarinet with electronics and digital technology. Pete is Lecturer in Music Performance at Goldsmiths, University of London, and also a member of Notes Inégales and Impropera, to date the world’s only (and arguably best) improvising opera company.
